Hi, my name is Pat. I am 53 years of age and the proud father of four wonderful children. Bobby (the eldest at 24) has already flown the nest while Michael (21) and Peter (18) are beginning to spread their wings. Jennifer, who at 15 is the youngest is still at school hopefully for another 3 or 4 years.
As you may gather from the flags and the music I am Australian and fiercly proud of that. I am proud of the fact that my ancestors were some of the earliest white people to settle in this wonderful country. I also tend to wear my heart on my sleeve because of this.
I live in the beautiful city of Lithgow. We are situated on the North-Western edge of the Blue Mountains some 160 kilometers (100 miles) west of Sydney. The city lies in a narrow valley with mountains on the Northern, Southern and Eastern sides.

Because of the location we are surrounded by rugged bush and National Parks. During the year we can be subjected to extremes of weather. This can go from very heavy frosts and snow during the winter to searing hot summer days with severe thunderstorms.
Lithgow is famous throughout the world for its Zig Zag railway. Lithgow is also known as the birthplace of the Australian Steel indudtry. One of the earliest industries in Lithgow was coal mining. This industry was first established by Thomas Brown in the 1830s. He built the beautiful Eskbank house in 1842.
